Welcome to the Brandywine Zoo!

The Brandywine Zoo is less than five acres and located in Wilmington, Delaware, along the Brandywine River in beautiful Brandywine Park. The Zoo is open 10am to 4pm (last admission at 3:30pm).

The Brandywine Zoo is managed by the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation with the support of the Delaware Zoological Society. The Brandywine Zoo is a member of the Association of Zoos & Aquariums and is one of over 240 accredited zoos and aquariums in North America, a distinction that marks its commitment to providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for the visitor, and a better future for all living things.

NATIVE PLANT SALE
Buying native plants is a great way to support the pollinators that visit your home! Luckily, we will be having a plant sale for that very reason. Stop by the zoo front gate (zoo admission is not required) to purchase a 6-pack of pollinator plants for $30.

STORYTIME AT THE ZOO WITH SMOKEY BEAR
Join us as we kick-off our summer Storytime series with a bear-y special birthday celebration. Learn about Smokey Bear at this special Storytime event with the Delaware Forest Service. Only you can wish Smokey a happy 80th birthday by starting the Smokey Bear Reading Challenge at the zoo’s Little Free Library!

BREW AT THE ZOO 21+
Visit the zoo after hours for this FUNdraiser event which includes a variety of beer, wine and spirit tastings from numerous vendors, light fare from local restaurants, and ice cream from Hy-Point. Plus live music by Green Eggs and Jam and animal encounters from Animal Behavior and Conservation Connections.

LITTLE NATURE EXPLORERS: SOUTH AMERICAN ANIMALS
Do you and your child love playing outdoors? This program allows children aged 2 to 5 and their guardians to make discoveries outdoors together. Each 45 minute class includes nature-based, child-directed activities, singing, and a storybook.
